What are the juniors?
The juniors program at East Moriches is a different type of membership, where interested school students can apply to become apart of the department. They meet on a regular basis at East Moriches Ambulance Headquarters, where regular training occurs.

Requirements
A junior member must have good moral character and must be at least 12 years old and no older than 17. If you are 17 years old and about to turn 18, do not worry, you can still apply to become a general member of the department!
Junior members meet with our Junior Advisers on a regular basis, during the evening hours during the week.
Goals of the Juniors

Our main goal of the juniors program for East Moriches is to teach young, eager, people different skill sets to get ready to move up in the department as general members.
We are always on the lookout for new volunteer members. Even as juniors, they provide help for essential ambulance services and training young members these new skills throughout their career at East Moriches early will ensure that we have a crew ready to help out the community.
What do we do?
Members will be trained in all aspects of pre-hospital emergency care, which include, but not limited to patient assessment, CPR, bleeding control, and various different pre-hospital skills.
Meetings
Meetings will be announced to juniors and their guardians a few weeks prior to the start of the meeting. We currently do not have a set meeting schedule.
Meetings are held in the evening hours during the week.
Can junior members ride the ambulance?
Not right away! A junior member must be at least 16 years of age and in good standing, with all the proper trainings completed to ride the ambulance. They must meet with the Chief prior to the start of this process.
