Does East Moriches Ambulance Bill for services?
At the present time we do not bill for services.
Why did a Stony Brook Ambulance show up?
EMCA has a mutual aid agreement with Stony Brook University Hospital EMS to provide services for specific call types, and during times of high call volume. The ambulance responding is an ALS unit comprised of a paramedic and EMT with additional equipment to serve different patient populations.
What services are provided?
EMCA has 3 advanced life support (ALS) ambulances and ALS first responder vehicle. A district ALS provider is on call 24/7 as well as a basic life support (BLS) crew to respond to EMS alarms. Depending on the severity of the patient will determine the level of intervention needed.
Does EMCA offer any classes?
We have a number of American Heart Association instructors on staff to teach CPR, First Aid, and AED training classes. Periodically we will offer other classes to the community. If you are interested, send us a note through here.
